In an emotional and detailed testimony, former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah, has alleged that her domestic workers stole significant sums of money and valuables from her storage room over an extended period.

Appearing in the witness box for the first time in the ongoing criminal trial, Dapaah told the Accra High Court that the accused individuals made off with a staggering $410,000, €300,000, and GHS350,000 (equivalent to approximately $30,000) from her storage room.

These sums were allegedly stolen over an unspecified period.

In addition to the stolen cash, Dapaah disclosed that her jewellery, valued at $53,000, was also taken.

The former minister expressed distress as she described how these stolen items had been acquired over a span of three decades, holding significant personal value.

This is the first time the former minister of state has appeared in court since the hearing began in 2023.

She accused her two former female housekeepers of theft at her residence in Accra. According to her, the two individuals stole the aforementioned amount, along with other valuable items, including her husband’s clothing
