Actress Kala Kumasi, representing a group of Kumawood thespians who campaigned for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has sent an urgent message to President John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Kala Kumasi appealed to the president to reward their dedication and efforts during the election campaign by appointing them to government positions.

She remarked that their contributions, which included producing a campaign advert highlighting the party’s manifesto promises, played a crucial role in rallying support for the NDC and securing its victory in the December elections.

“We worked tirelessly to ensure that the message of the NDC reached every corner of the country. From producing an advert to actively campaigning, we gave our all. We believe it’s only fair that our efforts are recognized with appointments in the new government,” she stated.

The calls come in the wake of ministerial and government appointments as President Mahama officially begins his tenure of office.

The appeal has sparked conversations on social media, with some supporters agreeing that grassroots contributors deserve recognition, while others argue that government appointments should prioritize expertise and experience.
