NPP vindicated; ORAL was a complete waste of time – Manhyia South MP
Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has criticized the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative, claiming the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been vindicated in calling it a waste of time and resources. He questioned the committee’s effectiveness and the credibility of its report to the Attorney General.

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been vindicated in its earlier stance that the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative was a waste of time and resources.
Speaking in an interview on JoyNews, the lawmaker questioned the usefulness of the ORAL committee and criticized its members for failing to apply their expertise effectively.
“Well, let me put it in the form of a question: what was the utility of the ORAL?” he asked. “When you look at the persons forming the committee, you have Daniel Domelevo, a highly experienced auditor and former Auditor-General, Martin Kpebu, an experienced lawyer, and retired Commissioner Kofi Boakye, an experienced security person.”
According to Mr. Awuah, the caliber of individuals on the committee raised expectations for a thorough and credible investigation, but the outcome fell short.
“You had all these people on there with the current EOCO boss too, and all they did was receive documents without probing their usefulness. They then handed over the report to the President, including what I would call garbage. So what was the utility of it?” he remarked.
The MP further argued that the committee’s work had inadvertently contributed to the mounting pressure on the Attorney General, suggesting that the report’s quality and accuracy were questionable.
“It appears they are part of the reason there’s so much pressure on the Attorney General,” he said. “And the Attorney General himself is also worsening the situation with the kind of information he’s putting in the public domain. It’s really unfortunate.”
Mr. Awuah concluded by expressing disappointment in the committee’s output, alleging a lack of due diligence and professional rigor.
“What was given to the Attorney General was an unrefined document,” he asserted. “Mr. Domelevo, respectfully, failed to bring his experience and expertise to bear on what he received. Mr. Kpebu also failed to apply his professional insight.”
