Residents force bike thief to swim in clogged gutter.

After apprehending a motorbike thief, incensed neighbours in a nearby community took the unimaginable step.

An enraged crowd caught the robber and had him swim in a clogged gutter as a form of punishment.

Witnesses said that the event happened early in the morning when the burglar tried to take off with a motorbike that was parked in front of a house.

When the motorbike’s owner saw the unusual conduct, he or she sounded the alarm, drawing the attention of the neighbours.

A mob quickly assembled, and the robber was apprehended before he could go.
The robber was hauled to a nearby gutter full with stagnant water and trash.

It was intended to discourage others from considering similar illegal operations, thus he was made to swim in the dirty water.
