Okaikwei North MP, Theresa Lardi Awuni, Embarks on ‘Thank You’ Tour

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Okaikwei North, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni, has begun her “Thank You” tour across the constituency and at the party office to express gratitude to her constituents for their support.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Awuni assured residents of her commitment to leaving a lasting legacy, emphasizing that she does not believe in the politics of empty promises. According to her, even in opposition, she was already initiating developmental projects such as boreholes, and now with the mandate, she intends to do more.

She pledged her support to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), stressing that their joint efforts will help fulfill the mandate given by President John Dramani Mahama to uplift Okaikwei North Municipality. “The people can only feel the presence of President Mahama when they see asphalt on their roads,” she noted.

Hon. Awuni further addressed claims that she had misused her Common Fund. She explained that all disbursements are properly documented and approved by the MCE, particularly when supporting university students with their fees.

She reassured constituents that most of her Common Fund allocations will be channeled into education, youth empowerment, and development projects. Additionally, she highlighted that funds will also be made available through initiatives like MASLOC loans to support start-ups and small businesses.

The MP also promised to work closely with the MCE to ensure visible development, stressing the importance of unity in leadership. “We must be seen as charting one path and not walking in separate ways,” she said, while urging her constituents to seize every opportunity available.

Hon. Awuni concluded by pledging to make Okaikwei North “nice and beautiful,” assuring residents that no one will be left behind in the constituency’s development agenda.
