The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a weather alert for widespread mist, slight rains, and possible thunderstorms across the country today, Monday, July 21, 2025.
According to the forecast, mist and fog patches are expected to dominate the early morning hours, particularly along the coastline and in hilly and forested areas.
GMet advises the public—especially early morning commuters and motorists—to exercise caution due to reduced visibility caused by fog and mist.
The agency also noted that sea conditions remain rough and cautioned fishermen and maritime operators to remain vigilant.
These weather conditions will occur under mostly cloudy skies, with intermittent light rain or drizzles expected to affect both coastal and inland towns throughout the morning.
By late morning, the weather is expected to evolve, with thunderstorms and rain forecast for northern towns such as Yendi, Tamale, Bolgatanga, and Wa.
In the afternoon, cities including Accra, Kasoa, Cape Coast, and Takoradi will experience a mix of sunshine and light rain. Evening conditions across the country are expected to be partly cloudy, with a drop in temperatures.
The agency also reminded the public of the ongoing decline in early morning and late evening temperatures, a typical pattern during the rainy season.
Ghanaians are encouraged to carry light, weatherproof clothing and umbrellas as precautionary measures.
