Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo for his impressive form in the Premier League this season.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of City’s clash with AFC Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola described Semenyo as an “extraordinary player” whose style perfectly complements Bournemouth’s system.
“It is not just this season,” the Spanish trainer.
“The way Bournemouth play suits him perfectly. He is an extraordinary player.”
Semenyo has been in scintillating form for the Cherries, registering nine goals and three assists so far this campaign.
His standout performances have also earned him a nomination for the Premier League Goal of the Month award for October.
Under Andoni Iraola, Bournemouth have been one of the league’s surprise packages, losing only once in their opening nine matches, with Semenyo playing a pivotal role in their impressive run.
