
A respected statesman and benefactor who passed away in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025. The ceremony was attended by fellow MPs from the Savannah region and the National Chairman.
Chief Limuna was not only a strong pillar in the Salaga South Constituency but also a key figure in the community, known for his contributions to socio-economic development. He held various roles, including Minister of Food and Agriculture, Upper East and Northern Regional Minister, and acting Deputy National Security Coordinator.
Some of his notable achievements include
– *Chieftaincy Title*: He was conferred with the title “Sandape Wura” (Chief of Staff) of the Damongo Paramountcy, recognizing his unflinching contribution to the socio-economic development of the Damongo traditional area.
– *Peace Mediation*: He played a crucial role in resolving conflicts in Dagbon, including the construction of six temporary palaces in Yendi.
– *Community Development*: His legacy continues to inspire development initiatives in the Savannah Region.
Hon. Zuwera expressed her condolences, stating, “May Allah grant his soul Jinatul Fildaus. We’ll forever miss you Alhaji Limuna.” The late Chief Limuna was accorded a state funeral on August 15, 2025, in Accra, attended by prominent figures. Other leaders, like Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, MP for Damongo, also paid their respects to the deceased.
