‘I’m the happiest man on earth’ – Agradaa’s husband after sentence reduction

Angel Asiamah, husband of former fetish priestess-turned-evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has expressed excitement after the Amasaman High Court reduced his wife’s prison sentence.
Speaking to journalists at the court forecourt following the ruling, Mr. Asiamah welcomed the decision, describing it as a huge relief.
“I am the happiest man on earth,” he said in Twi.
The Amasaman High Court has reduced Nana Agradaa’s prison sentence to 12 calendar months, describing the original 15-year sentence with hard labour as harsh and excessive.
The revised sentence takes effect from the date of her conviction on July 3, 2025, meaning Nana Agradaa will serve a total of 12 months in prison.
The court held that although the offence warranted punishment, the severity of the original sentence was disproportionate under the circumstances, justifying a downward adjustment.
Nana Agradaa, who has remained a controversial public figure since transitioning from traditional priesthood to evangelism, was convicted earlier this year in a case that generated widespread public debate and legal scrutiny.
With the High Court’s ruling, her conviction remains intact, but the custodial term has been significantly reduced.
