Helicopter crash: Amoakohene assures Sikaman residents of support

Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has appealed to residents of Sikaman-Brofoyedu to be patient as processes are underway to provide support to individuals who assisted in carrying the remains of the eight victims from the helicopter crash site.
This comes after concerns raised by locals over what they describe as neglect by the government, despite their role in transporting the remains from the crash site to the community, before they were later conveyed to Accra.
Responding to the concerns, Dr. Amoakohene assured that arrangements are being made to duly appreciate the residents.
“We have not been ourselves for the past two weeks, and in the process of the funeral and all that, definitely you will not have the peace to even think of yourself or even think of what issues may be happening.
“We are picking the database of all the youth who helped us with the incident of the plane crash. We are going to reach out to them. Even that process has started already.
“I will make sure I go there together with the DCE because if I don’t, I am sure it will become news as well. We will definitely show appreciation and other job opportunities that we have discussed with the central government. We will make them available. We applaud them for their work, just that they need to give us time,” he said.
