Mahamudu Bawumia Clears the Loyalty Hurdle — “Ghanaians Have Tested Me and I’ve Passed” — Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah
Dr Bawumia has demonstrated to Ghanaian voters that he can be trusted, having reportedly passed the public’s “loyalty test” according to MP Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah. Discover what this means for the New Patriotic Party’s 2028 prospects.

Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, has expressed strong confidence that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the right candidate to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 election. According to Korsah, Bawumia has already passed a critical test of loyalty and public acceptability — one that Ghanaians typically apply to presidential hopefuls before giving them full support.
Korsah noted that Bawumia’s track record — including his tenure as Vice President and his visibility across the country — means he is no longer an untested figure. “Ghanaians want to test your humility, your patience, and your courage. Dr Bawumia has passed all these tests,” Korsah said.
He added that apart from former President John Mahama, no other Ghanaian politician enjoys the same level of nationwide recognition as Bawumia. This broad appeal, he argued, gives the NPP a strategic advantage if Bawumia is chosen as the party flagbearer — especially since introducing a lesser‐known candidate would require significantly more effort in branding and outreach.
With the next NPP presidential primaries on the horizon, Korsah urged delegates in the Bono East Region and across the party to deliver a strong mandate for Bawumia, signalling clearly that the party is rallying behind a candidate already tested and trusted by Ghanaians.
