Every Ethnic Group in Ghana Has Its Own Flag or Symbol” – Dr. Yaw Anokye Frimpong Esq. Criticises Dormaahene

Dr. Yaw Anokye Frimpong Esq. says every ethnic group in Ghana has its own flag or symbol, adding that the Dormaahene got it wrong, speaking on Ezra Adekyee hosted by Aduanaba Kofi Asante.

Dr. Yaw Anokye Frimpong Esq. has criticised the Dormaahene, stating that the traditional leader got it wrong regarding ethnic identity and symbolism in Ghana.

He made the remarks during an interview on Ezra Adekyee, on Ezra 94.1FM/TV hosted by Aduanaba Kofi Asante.

According to Dr. Yaw Anokye Frimpong, every ethnic group in Ghana has its own unique flag, symbol, and identity, and these traditional markers must be respected and properly understood, especially by leaders who speak on cultural and historical matters.

He explained that ethnic identity in Ghana is not something that can be confused or mixed up for convenience, adding that traditional authority comes with the responsibility to protect historical truth rather than distort it.

Dr. Frimpong further suggested that comments made by the Dormaahene on the matter were inaccurate and could mislead the public, stressing that Ghana’s ethnic diversity is built on clear traditional roots and cultural distinctions.

He urged Ghanaians to learn more about the country’s cultural history and to avoid narratives that create unnecessary tension between different ethnic groups and traditional areas.

The statement has since generated public reactions, as discussions about chieftaincy, identity, and traditional influence continue to dominate the media space.
