Operations at the Hohoe Municipal office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) have come to a halt after the Constituency Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Wodey Samuel, locked up the premises in protest over a recent appointment.
Mr. Wodey, who was initially considered for the role of Municipal NADMO Director, is said to have taken the action after the position was handed to his deputy, Raphael Kumaga. Describing the move as an “injustice”. He insists the decision must be reversed before the office can resume operations.
However, a former NDC executive in the Hohoe Constituency, who confirmed the incident to Citi News, disclosed that Mr. Wodey had earlier rejected the NADMO appointment, opting instead to pursue a position at the Bank of Ghana office in Hohoe.
Following an unsuccessful application, he reportedly made a U-turn and attempted to claim the NADMO post, which had already been offered to Mr. Kumaga.
Municipal authorities have yet to officially comment on the matter, but the closure has sparked concern among residents and party members, with growing calls for swift intervention to restore normalcy at the disaster management office.
