The Ministry of Health has confirmed the release of GH₵462 million to cover six months of allowances for 120,000 nursing trainees across the country.

In a statement, the Ministry said the payment is part of a broader government initiative aimed at supporting students in nursing training colleges.

According to the Ministry, disbursements began on Thursday, July 17, 2025, and will continue through to Friday, July 25.

“This payment, which covers six months, forms part of a broader initiative by the government to provide financial support to students in nursing training colleges,” the statement noted.

The Ministry described the move as a significant step toward improving the welfare of nursing trainees and maintaining the morale of future health professionals.

Signed by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Tony Goodman, the statement expressed gratitude to President Mahama and all stakeholders for facilitating the timely release and distribution of the funds.

The Ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with nursing institutions to ensure the sustained delivery of quality healthcare education nationwide.
