The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) community has been hit with devastating news of the passing of two students in separate incidents.
The deceased have been identified as third-year Forest Resource Technology student, Akosuah Owusuaa and a final-year English student Bertha Kookale Hammond.
Both students passed away on Sunday, March 9, under unknown circumstances.
Sources indicate that Akosuah Owusuaa had been feeling unwell since Wednesday and was sent home on Saturday before her unfortunate passing the next day.
The Department of English has expressed deep sorrow over Bertha’s demise, describing her as a dedicated, talented student whose creativity and presence will be dearly missed.
To honor Bertha’s memory, students of the English Department (ASEK) are requested to wear black on Monday, March 10, and Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Funeral arrangements and memorial service details will be shared in due course.
The entire KNUST community mourns these losses and extends heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of both students.
