Voting at the Akyem Akan Constituency nearly got marred following a misunderstanding between the Constituency Elections and Research Officer and an agent for Kennedy Agyapong over alleged interference in the voting process.
According to eyewitness accounts, the disagreement started when the agent of the Kennedy Agyapong camp insisted on sitting very close to the election officials during the voting exercise. The Elections and Research Officer reportedly objected to the seating arrangement, raising concerns that the agent’s proximity to the officials could lead to undue influence or interference in the process.

Some persons at the centre were said to have exchanged heated words, creating an atmosphere that threatened to disrupt the smooth conduct of the voting.
However, the timely intervention of the Ghana Police Service, who were present to provide security, prevented the disagreement from turning into a bigger disturbance. Officers quickly stepped in to restore calm, cautioning those involved and ensuring that order was maintained for voting to continue peacefully.
Sources say the police intervention helped de-escalate the situation and allowed the voting process to proceed under strict monitoring, with party officials and security personnel ensuring that all agents complied with the rules governing the election.
